Siri Lini.
Siri Lini is an indie singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and visual artist whose eclectic blend of rock, folk, and pop narratives captivates listeners with tales of Southwestern landscapes and the colorful characters that inhabit them.
Raised amidst the vibrant music scene of Dallas, Texas, Siri’s musical journey began at the tender age of eight when she picked up the guitar and discovered her passion for singing. Influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, and the timeless allure of folk music, Siri honed her craft by performing for friends, family, and local gatherings, laying the foundation for her future musical endeavors.
Siri’s musical evolution took a bold turn when she co-founded the post-punk, all-female power trio Disbanned during the heyday of the Dallas indie scene. As the band’s bassist, vocalist, and primary songwriter, Siri and her bandmates released their debut vinyl album, capturing the essence of their rebellious spirit and carving a niche in the Southwest music scene.
Transitioning to a solo career, Siri explored new sonic territories with dance-oriented singles and albums, including the critically acclaimed “You Make Me Come Alive,” produced by Jimmy Liston for Profile Records. This venture into a different musical realm showcased Siri’s versatility and willingness to push artistic boundaries.
Continuously evolving as an artist, Siri delved into classical guitar studies and drew inspiration from a diverse array of musical influences, including Elliott Smith, Alanis Morissette, David Byrne, Philip Glass, and Lady Gaga, while still drawing from the timeless legacies of Mitchell and Baez.
Beyond music, Siri channels her creativity into other artistic mediums, co-founding Creek Chick Films with her wife Camille Cook, where they have received accolades for their short films at the Austin, Texas Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Additionally, Siri’s journey as a cancer survivor is documented through her poignant paintings, which serve as a personal diary of her triumph over adversity.
Driven by her inherent artistic spirit and guided by the balance-seeking nature of her Libra sign, Siri Lini’s mission remains steadfast: to create and connect through the universal language of music and art, sharing stories that resonate with the human experience.
